If you go from being able to work with an income to having a reduced ability to work and being disabled, you will find that you get, among other things:
• Poorer
• Potentially poorer self-image
• A completely new life situation
• Worse routines?
• Much more time in everyday life

The last point can be problematic. What do you really fill your days with after cleaning the house for the fourth time and going for the same walk 50. time?

At the bottom you will find all the post relating to the topic

Too much time on your hands and need help to get out of the rut?

You can always get better at something and take a course to learn a skill, but sometimes it’s important to just relax and enjoy life.

You can of course watch a TV series and films, but how long does it take before you actually know the action before you can predict the rest of the story?

People with disabilities can do a wide range of activities that are either cheap or free. Some examples of low-cost or free activities that people with disabilities can enjoy include:

  1. Going for a walk or hike: Enjoy the outdoors and get some exercise by going for a walk or hike in a nearby park or nature reserve. This can be a great way to relax, clear your mind, and connect with nature.
  2. Get on the bus and explore new places. Use that bus pas to the max.
  3. Participating in online communities: There are many online communities and forums that are dedicated to people with disabilities. These communities can be a great way to connect with others, share experiences and advice, and find support and encouragement.
  4. Reading or listening to books: Reading or listening to books can be a great way to relax, learn new things, and stimulate your mind. Many libraries offer free access to e-books and audiobooks, or you can borrow physical books from friends or family.
  5. Watching movies or TV shows: Streaming services like Netflix and Hulu offer a wide range of movies and TV shows that you can watch for a monthly fee. Alternatively, you can borrow DVDs or Blu-rays from the library or watch free movies and TV shows on websites like Crackle or Tubi.
  6. Volunteering: Volunteering can be a rewarding way to give back to your community and make a positive difference in the lives of others. Many organizations welcome volunteers with disabilities and will work with you to find a role that is suitable for your abilities and interests. Join or organize groups of people that pick up litter, soup kitchen, mow your neighbours lawn while they are at work, offer dog services or check out more at Dosomething.org
  7. Taking up a hobby: Hobbies are a great way to relax, learn new skills, and express your creativity. Many hobbies, such as painting, drawing, or knitting, can be done at home and don’t require expensive equipment or materials.
  8. Going to free events: Many communities offer free events, such as concerts, festivals, and sporting events, that people with disabilities can attend. Check with your local community center or city hall to see what events are coming up in your area.
  9. Create passive income sources – Creating passive sources of income takes time, why not make a hobby out of it?
  10. Learn a new skill – you don’t necessarily need to learn programming, but how about tying a tie?
  11. Use the library
Get a book, magazine, newspaper, movies or maybe a game? What’s not to like about the library?
If you have a good library in your city, you also may meet other people for a discussion and a game of chess.
  12. Watch inspirational videos on youtube and actually do something with the newly aquired inspiration.
Youtube is filled with inspirational content. But it’s useless if you don’t go and do something that you have been inspired to do. Watch a predefined number of videos, then go do something!
